Copper Mountain Men and Women Sweep Palo Verde
Copper Mountain College (CMC) Men's and Women's Basketball teams emerged victorious Saturday afternoon in thrilling matchups against the Palo Verde College Pirates.
The CMC Women's Basketball Team showcased their resilience, battling through a tightly contested game to earn a 64-58 overtime victory. The Fighting Cacti opened the overtime period with a decisive 6-0 run, securing their hard-fought win against a formidable opponent.
On the men's side, the CMC Fighting Cacti overcame challenges in the second half to clinch a 71-67 victory. The Pirates' zone defense gave CMC trouble, allowing Palo Verde to briefly take the lead. However, timely defensive stops and smooth transition plays helped the Cacti regain momentum.
